ANANDA

Ananda is a retreat set in a residential enclave in the southwest of Mallorca, where daily life is shaped by the sea, shifting light and an unhurried rhythm. Conceived as a quiet sanctuary, the house takes its identity from stone, timber and water — materials that root the architecture in its coastal setting and create an immediate sense of natural connection. From the outset, the design sought to unite past and present, acknowledging the island’s heritage while embracing a contemporary way of living. Guided by this ethos, the project evolved into a home finely attuned to its landscape. Rather than asserting itself, Ananda weaves a subtle continuity between spaces and volumes,

allowing interior and exterior to read as a single, flowing sequence. Stone offers permanence, timber introduces warmth and water brings clarity and calm — an assemblage that defines a relaxed yet precise approach to Mediterranean living. The result is a residence where boundaries soften, especially as autumn light settles across terraces and interiors. Spaces unfold with quiet coherence, and the surrounding landscape becomes a constant presence — a home with a genuine connection to place and history, lived through everyday gestures and unhurried transitions.

The daytime spaces unfold as a continuous, luminous sequence shaped by coastal views and Mediterranean light. The living area is anchored by generous Minotti seating compositions, whose refined silhouettes and tactile finishes create an atmosphere of effortless ease. These pieces invite lingering — conversations that slow, moments that naturally extend toward the terrace. The adjacent dining space maintains this gentle rhythm.A sculpted table and Freifrau upholstered chairs introduce soft curves and warm textures,

reinforcing the palette of woods and muted tones that threads through the home. The Poliform kitchen completes the daytime ensemble with a balance of clarity and warmth. A stone island, discreet cabinetry and integrated lighting establish a calm architectural core that connects seamlessly with the living and dining areas, creating a unified landscape for daily life.

The night-time areas of Ananda are crafted to encourage rest and reflection. The principal bedroom opens towards the landscape, drawing in soft Mallorcan light and framing long, uninterrupted views. Warm neutrals, tactile fabrics and low-profile furniture create a balanced, tranquil atmosphere, while crafted carpentry and timber detailing introduce a gentle, natural rhythm across the surfaces.

The adjoining dressing area and ensuite build on this serene mood. The Poliform walk-in wardrobe is composed of warm woods and soft, indirect lighting that lends clarity without harshness. In the bathroom, stone and water become the defining elements: a refined vanity, sculptural basins and a generous shower elevate daily routines into quiet, restorative rituals, completing the intimate character of the night-time zone.

Ananda’s outdoor areas are conceived as a true extension of the interior, designed for daily use throughout the year. Terraces step towards the landscape, opening to views of hills and distant sea. Generous Minotti lounge compositions define relaxed seating zones, echoing the interior’s calm sensibility while responding to the Mediterranean climate. The pool aligns with the horizon, turning water into a gentle threshold between home and nature.

Beneath custom timber pergolas by Gunni & Trentino, the dining terrace adopts a more architectural character. A considered arrangement of table and Minotti chairs creates a setting for long meals and slow evenings, softened by shifting patterns of filtered light. Stone walls, warm surfaces and the continuous presence of greenery bind these spaces together, allowing the entire home to be experienced as one seamless, open-air sequence.
